Hi to everyone at Taswood

Just a quick note to thank you for a great day. It was our first visit and I have to compliment you on the immaculate way in which the lakes and swims are kept, with good signage and firm smooth paths to make your way around.

Stuart and I had a busy day in challenging conditions. I used boiled recommended in the Taswood shop and used a normal pop up rig with a kernel of hello plastic sweet corn added.

Stuart- my carp fishing coach, didn’t get a bite all day, but thoroughly enjoyed the location and the challenge.

Only the one bite for me, at around 2 pm but what a fish!

I landed a 31 pound common after nearly 10 minutes of battle. After the initial alarm, I grabbed the rod and honestly thought my line had been picked up by a passing boat!

We landed the fish very carefully between us, disgorged the hook and kept it wet with lake water from a bucket whilst on the landing mat.

When we finally got to weigh it, using Reuben Heaton scales, having zeroed it on the weight of the mat, the fish was a net 31 pounds, which was a personal best for me!

Thanks again for a great day. We will be back…

Chris and Stuart.
